It’s hard to believe that we’ve reached the month of November and that the festive season is just around the corner. In a sense it feels like 2012 only started yesterday. Transoranje Christmas Market: This event takes place at the Tshwane Events Centre (formerly known as the Pretoria show grounds) from the 23rd of November to the 2nd of December 2012. This is an official fundraiser for the Transoranje School For The Deaf. Visitors are invited to enenjoy a family outing where they can do all their Christmas shopping under one roof. This is the 16th year that the Transoranje Christmas Market is being held and the Guardian of the event is Hanna Grobler.
Visitors can expect more than 270 exhibitors to ensure a wide range of items for young and old. They’ll also be able to enjoy a light meal and a cup of tea at the event’s tea garden. This year’s event has a daily program with free demonstrations on different topics (beads, table decorations, gift decorations, olives, pavlova’s, fabric painting, mosaic and more). There will also be an art competition and scholars are encouraged to enter. Prizes will be given for the 1st and 2nd in each age division.

Helderberg Wine Festival: You can check out this event from the 15th of November to the 18th of November 2012 in the Somerset West / Stellenbosch region in the Western Cape. About 40 wineries are participating in this year’s event.
The 2012 edition of the Helderberg Wine Festival offers activities for young and old at each of the participating cellars. Expect great food from some of the highly rated restaurants, live music, kids programmes, exhibitions, shows and award-winning wines. Visitors can expect a laid-back atmosphere.
Local charities benefit from the Helderberg Wine Fesitval and the festival organizers will also support Amorim Cork’s “Cork Alive project”. This project aims to create sustainable work opportunities for locals in the wine industry by re-using old corks. Jewellery and Accessories Expo: This expo will be held at the Protea Edward Hotel in Durban on the 17th of November 2012. The Jewellery and Accessories Expo will be a trendy event and will offer visitors the option to shop for tastefully designed jewellery and accessories. Accessories include eye-wear ranges, fragrances, scented body products, divine jewellery, attractive gift products, etc.
The expo is a fusion of art and fashion. Expect bright accessories like bags, shoes and jewellery that are being displayed in different stands. This event will also showcases some of the best design talent in South Africa (especially when it comes to jewellery).
