Is gardening one of your past times? Are you flower fanatic? Well, the Addo Rose and Garden show might just be what you’ve been waiting for. The premium Eastern Cape event (which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year) will take place on the 12th and 13th of October 2013 at the Valentine Hall in Addo (only 50 minutes’ drive from Port Elizabeth).
Over the years the Addo Rose and Garden Show has consistently been a favourite that attracts visitors to the Sunday’s River Valley. Every year loads of rose lovers, floral artists and gardening enthusiasts flock to this show to enjoy fun activities and to experience thousands of magnificent roses on display in the show’s exhibition hall. This year more than 25,000 roses will be on display at the event.
Besides this, the Addo Rose and Garden Show offers various stalls for handmade home decor items and garden products and plenty of food stalls offering a wide variety of fresh farm and deli products for those who want to tantalize your taste buds.
Visit the Rose Cafe for delectable eats and treats along with the best tea and coffee on the brew, visit the Food Court for a wide selection of “eat on the go” or “picnic in style” meals or wet your whistle at the beer tent (while you are keeping your eyes on the big game). The event will also showcase the musical talent from local schools and schools from the Nelson Mandela Bay metropolitan area.
There will also be loads of kids’ activities like face painting, balloon animals, a jumping castle, a playground, zip lines, log swings and much more. Most of these activities are free, so it won’t cost you an arm and a leg to keep your kids entertained. The show is held in a tranquil garden setting so it’s the perfect way for the whole family to spend a day away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The Addo Rose and Garden Show is open from 9 AM to 5 PM on both the show days. Entrance cost R50 for adults and R20 for children under 13 years old.
