The city of Tshwane is proudly hosting the 8th annual Africa Aerospace and Defence Expo 2014 at the Air Force Base in Waterkloof, Centurion, from 17th to 21st September 2014.
This is the time of the year where the industry players from around the world collaborate to showcase the latest technological innovations in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
The Aerospace event on South African land, jetted off with a trade expo that began on Wednesday, 17th September. The trade expo will be on until the 19th September, which will then be followed by the much anticipated public air show on the 20th and 21st September.
The Africa Aerospace and Defence is a multi-billion Rand organisation that aims to bring together the government and private sector of the country. The AAD has also introduced a Youth Development Programme that focusses on connecting with learners to promote the skills required in the industry. This programme is designed to create awareness of Science (Physics) and Mathematics among learners and educators.
The AAD has planned an exciting line up of activities for the whole family. Some of the biggest names in the aviation and defence industry will perform world class static demonstrations of their latest and greatest aircrafts. There will also be mobility track demonstrations, parachute drops, aerobatic displays and not forgetting an air show that will leave you breathless.
There will also be a fun fly park for the youth to interact while partaking in planned activities that include, Target shooting, crime scene investigation, plastic model building and virtual aviation.
