Brace yourself for the Johannesburg Wine Show in May 2013!

Gauteng wine lovers and connoisseurs should brace themselves for one of the most awesome events of the year. The Johannesburg Wine Show will be held from Friday the 3rd of May to Sunday the 5th of May 2013 at the Sandton Convention Centre.

The Johannesburg Wine Show was launched 8 years ago and has become a highlight on the calendar for wine lovers and wine producers. The event is well known for its blend of edutainment (via the Wine Theatre sessions), it’s top class representation of some of South Africa’s best wineries (like Meerlust, Simonsig, Grande Provance, Niel Joubert, Solms Delta and others), it’s colourful stands and tasty food.

Great news for visitors to the Johannesburg Wine Show is that the winning wines from the 2012 International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC) will be on show in the Wine Extra and IWSC Gold Lounge at the event. For an additional R40 visitors will be able to sample these exquisite and international gold medal winning wines.

The Johannesburg Wine Show’s philosophy is that drinking wine is an experience to be enjoyed by everyone from the complete novice to the connoisseur. This year they’re excited to take the show to a new venue and they’re looking forward to welcoming back their loyal supporters and greet many new faces.

There are probably many of you who are planning to sample their fair share of wines at the Johannesburg Wine Show. Great news is that the show offers a complimentary Good Fellas service this year. The Good Fellas drivers will be on site for the last three hours of each show day. The service will be run on a first come first served basis.

Tickets to the Johannesburg Wine Show are available via Computicket at R120 per person. Tickets will be available at the door at the Sandton Convention center as well at R140 per person. Tickets include a crystal tasting glass, all tastings, access to the wine theatre and a map to help you navigate the show. Weekend passes cost R220 per person and a 10% discount applies for groups ten or more people. Students and pensioners who visit the show on the Sunday will also qualify for a 10% discount.

The Johannesburg Wine Show will be open from 5 PM to 9 PM on the Friday, from 12 PM to 9 PM on the Saturday and from 12 PM to 6 PM on the Sunday. For more information visit the Wine Show website or phone 021 8888800.
