Don’t Miss The Chinese New Year Celebrations at Brightwater Commons

Chinese New YearGreat News for the people of Gauteng! Brightwater Commons is hosting Chinese New Year Celebrations on Saturday the 2nd of February 2013. This year’s event is entitled The Year of the Dragon and promises to be one of coolest events on Johannesburg‘s calendar in February 2013.

At the Chinese New Year Celebrations you will be able to view an exciting performance by the China National Acrobatics Troupe. The Troupe incorporates music, dance, opera and Kung Fu into their acrobatic programmes. You can also expect an amazing opening ceremony which will include a colourful display of the Dragon and Lion dancing.

The event is family friendly and you are more than welcome to find a spot on the grassy commons with your family to enjoy the magnificent display on stage. You’re also welcome to bring a picnic basket along or you can try the delicious Chinese delicacies at the food stalls.

The Chinese New Year’s Celebrations will also feature a Photographic Architectural Exhibition of Beijing in the Promotions Court. This will surely help to bring the Far East a little closer to home. It’s also an excellent opportunity to learn about more about Chinese arts and crafts like paper cutting, sugar art, calligraphy, noodle art and more.

The fun kicks off at 11 AM on the day and will continue to 5 PM. For more information phone 011 7895052 or visit the Brightwater Commons Website.
