Events in Gauteng – July 2010

Springbok Vasbyt Road Race: This event will take place at the Voortrekker Monument on the 17th of July 2010. The race is presented by the marathon club of the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT). Distances of 12km and 21km may be completed and persons who would rather walk these distances are welcome to come and take part. Persons interested should note that the races are subject to the rules of the AGN and the ASA. Unregistered runners will be required to pay for a temporary licence. Gold medals will be awarded to the 300 runners in the open division. Gold medals will also be awarded to the first runner in 5 other divisions and thereafter the first 100 runners will obtain silver medals, followed by 700 bronze medals. Ample safe parking is available on the site. Anitique and Decorative Arts Faire: If you are you interested in books, coins, porcelain figures or if you are looking for some beautiful antique pieces to incorporate in your home then this might be the event for you. Exhibitors from all over the country as well as internationally will be showcasing their collections at the Antique and Decorative Arts Faire. There will be a wide range of furniture from the Victorian, Georgian, Edwardian and Art Nouveau collections. Collectable cutlery and novelty silver will be on show from specialist dealers of Russian, Irish, English and Cape silver. Jewellery, glassware, porcelain as well as prints, maps, coins, military memorabilia and books will also be on display. The Antique and Decorative Arts Faire will be held at the Sandton Convention Centre from the 23rd to the 25th of July 2010. Faire times are from 10 AM to 6 PM.
