Events in Gauteng – July / August 2010

Cars in the Park: This event takes placed at the Zwartkops Raceway on the R55 on the 1st of August 2010. Cars in the Park was previously staged in Silverton, Pretoria but the event moved here a few years ago. Cars in the Park is South Africa’s premier old car show and is held annually on the first Sunday in August every year. In 2009 visitors were able to view +/- 2000 vintage and classic cars and motorcycles from more than 80 clubs from all South Africa. The event will also have beer tents and food stalls, live entertainment, clowns, jumping castles, mini steam tractor rides and more. Entrance costs R40 for adults and children under 12 can enter for free. The show will be open from 07h00 to 17h00.

International Fashion Sale: This event is staged at the Coca Cola Dome in Johannesburg from 29 July to 1 August 2010. It’s lifestyle fashion shopping experience dedicated to bringing visitors the world’s leading brands in fashion and accessories for men, women and children. Every 6 months the seasons change and fashion changes along with it. Retails bring their surplus stock to the International Fashion Sale. This is a successful solution to many fashion designers, boutique owners and retailers problem over the past decade. The sale remains a showcase for designer shoes, handbags, jewellery, luxury luggage, sunglasses and cosmetics. The aim of the sale is at the discerning and brand-conscious consumer. Exhibitors traditionally offer their surplus designs at well below market value. The eager public snap this up.  The buying public want to look good in the latest in high fashion. They wanna show off designerwear and stylish brand labels like Diesel, Nike, Guess, Nine West, Morgan, etc. A portion of the public save up and shop religiously at the International Fashion Sale every year. YFM will be broadcasting live from the show. The sale had its humble beginning 14 years ago at the Wanderers club. Now the International Fashion Sale fills the Coca Coca Dome twice a year.
