Events in Gauteng – June 2011

Port & Sherry Festival: This event is held on the 4th of June 2011 at the Old Mill, Magaliesberg. Now in its 3rd year this event (which is held by Cellar Rats) is a family festival that promotes the culture of good living. The venue is about a 35 minute drive from Johannesburg’s Northern Suburbs. Visitors are invited to come and sit around one of the many bonfires and warm their bodies or toast a marshmellow inbetween tasting some of South Africa’s best fortified wines. More than 40 wine producers will be sharing they best they have to offer with over 100 wines. Children will be entertained and supervised by Happy Acres who have arranged a variety of activities which include a jumping castle, sport activities, snake, animal and plant displays, crab catching and much more. Ke-Music-Tal-Concert: This event is held in Ivory Park, Midrand on Saturday the 4th of June. This event will be a talent concert for young people passionate about the music industry. An opportunity to showcase their talent. The Ke-Music-Tal-Concert will be a music promotion and a community entertainment event. It will be an event to reassure locally, not exposed, and (unsigned) artists of what lays ahead of them in the music industry and to pave ways for them to bigger music stages. Ke-Music-Tal-Concert will feature 30 artists all from the local and surrounding areas of the greater Midrand. All artists will be given a chance to perform three of their best tracks. Each artist will get 15 minutes on stage, allowing five minutes and less on stage per track.
