Events in Gauteng – March 2011

Boat and Leisure Show: This event is held from the 25th to the 27th of March 2011 at Lakeside Mall in Benoni (on the East Rand). There will be a variety of exhibitions showcasing the coolest in watersports and clubs. Splash Diving H2O, Escape Boating, Ekurhuleni Boating and Sports, the Boy Scouts with their rafts and the Benoni Sailing Club will be on hand to demonstrate all their newest and greatest ideas in boating and camping and more. The show will be situated on the grass area (next to Tom Jones Street) near the hyacinth-free lake at Lakeside Mall, entrance to the show is through the Game and Fripps entrance. On Saturday, 26 March from 9 AM to 3 PM, visitors are invited to bring their fishing rods to take part in a tag and release fishing competition. Great prizes are up for grabs (sponsored by Lakeside Mall tenant, ‘Survivor store’). Spot on Angling Products will teach visitors how to fish and allow them to enter the competition for only R30. Fill out a form at Centre Management or the Survivor Store before the show. All ages may enter. The Coca-Cola music truck will be supplying you with the coolest tunes while you fish and satisfy your fishy cravings with food on sale by Ocean Basket, Lakeside Mall. Aim & Wild Expo: This event is held at the Tshwane Events Centre (formerly known as the Pretoria Showgrounds) from the 25th to the 27th of March 2011. Visitors are invited to see and buy the latest and greatest specials on custom and factory made firearms, rods, archery, reels, lures, bowhunting, knives, optics, boats, 4x4s, outdoor books, hunting packages, fishing destinations, lodges and adventure equipment. More than 120 leading wholesalers, retailers and service providers strut their stuff at the biggest event for shooters, anglers, hunters and outdoor sportsmen. The expo is the primary showcase for manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and service providers in the firearm, hunting, bowhunting and fishing industries.
