ScopeX 2011: This event is held on the 7th of May 2011 in Saxonwold at the SA National Military History Museum (aka War Museum, next to the Zoo). At this Telescope & Astronomy Expo visitors can except a large variety of quality telescopes, accessories and books and exhibitions of self-made telescopes, accessories and Astro Photos. There will be telescope making demonstrations, science shows, rocket displays, camera obsucra, presentations and lectures. Wits Arts and Literary Experience 2011: This event is held at various locations at the University of Witwatersrand’s Main Campus from the 11th to the 14th of May 2011. It will be the 4th year in the row that the Wits Arts and Literature Experience (WALE) will be held. It’s one of the best places to experience South African and Global culture. Highlights of WALE 4.0 include the premiere of a new full length work by leading South African choreographer and Wits Artist-in-Residence, Athena Mazerakis as well as the visual theatre production, “Planet B” directed by Helen Iskander. A spectacular opening parade, world-class music and literature, cutting-edge dance and theatre, film screenings, exhibitions, seminars, and workshops will be part of the proceedings.
