Events in Gauteng – November 2010

Hyundai Express Roadshow: This event will be held at Eastgate Shopping Centre in Bedfordview, Johannesburg from the 19th to the 21st of November 2010 and Maponya Mall in Soweto from the 26th – 28th of November 2010. This event will feature the stunning signature of Hyundai iRange vehicles (the i10, i20, i30, the 2011 Wesbank / SAGMJ Car of the Year Finalists, the recently launched iX35 and Sonata). The entire iRange is travelling to popular destinations across the country and is supported by a fun, consumer-driven online voting competition. Global has proved to be an exciting player in the global automotive industry. The company is maintaining its frontrunner role in their commitment to green energy. The i10 was voted as the most eco-friendly compact for 2010 in the United Kingdom recently. The iXpress Roadshow will also be South Africa’s first entirely climate neutral roadshow. BookEx: This brand new Johannesburg Book Faire will run from the 26th to the 28th of November 2010 at the Sandton Convention Centre.The faire is the the brainchild of Mohan Kanjee of Johannesburg’s legendary Estoril books shop chain. The aim of the event is to create a hub of book shopping ahead of the summer holidays and Christmas. Together with author participation BookEx will be hosting a 2 day Crime Writer’s Fest  (CrimeWrite) within BookEx that has been developed by Mike Nicol, Margie Oxford and a number of other crime writers. The organizers are in the process of developing a platform to promote World Aids Day and any other genre specific promotions to make the Book Faire a valuable destination for the public. A large children’s section with professional child minders with activities such as storytelling, face painting and colouring in, etc will be available for children in order to give parents a relaxing shopping experience. Local independent authors are welcome to participate and promote themselves and their work.
