Events in KZN – July 2010

Ballito Prawn & Jazz Festival: This event is held from the 2nd to the 4th of July 2010 at Colishen Estate. This Ballito Prawn and Jazz Festival focuses on fun, entertainment and family and will raise funds for charities that are associated to Rotary International, Round Table and the Lions Club. Everyone is invited to attend and take part in this opportunity to showcase the beautiful KZN North Coast. It’s an entire weekend of the best family fun and entertainment. Delicious Gourmet Prawns are the specialty as well as a menu full of other hot surprises! Visit the beer garden with big screen TV’s or enjoy high tea nestled in the sugar cane. A mountain bike cycle race and trail run, a bass fishing competition and a 4×4 regional challenge and a golf day are also part of the proceedings. For the kids there’s a 5000 square meter kids carnival with fun fair, the Spur Mountain Bike fun ride and the ESA kids fishing competition. There’s also the Garvz sports clinic, Movie Night, the Barney scratch patch-Simba Lion-Face Painting and more. There really is lot on offer at the Ballito Prawn & Jazz Festival. Mr Price Pro Surfing Competition: This event takes place from Friday the 2nd of July to Sunday the 11th of July 2010 at Salmon Bay and Surfers Beaches in Ballito. Heats for the women and juniors take place from 2-4 July and heats for the men take place from 5-11 July. An impressive number of popular South African bands will entertain the public in a 2 day concert. The concert is free to the public at Salt Rock. Acoustic night is on the 9th of July and Rock night is on the 10th of July.
