Events in KZN – September 2011

Line Dancing Charity Drive: It’s almost summer again and more than 200 line dancers from KZN’s East Coast will be taking to the floor in the Animal Anti-Cruelty League Line Dance and Solo Dance Marathon. The event will take place at uShaka Marine World’s Arena 3 on the 3rd of September 2011 (this week Saturday). The hot weather that so many of us welcome brings ticks and fleas that cause a great deal of discomfort and suffering for our furry animal friends. Many pet owners in rural areas and informal settlements cannot afford treatment. The Animal-Anti Cruelty League will be raising funds to enable them to continue the free service mobile dipping unit, which travels to these rural areas in order to eradicate parasites and treat mange of suffering animals during the 7 hours that the dancers will be strutting their stuff. If you’re a newcomer to line dancing – which covers many genres of dance including Latin, Salsa, Ballroom, Hip Hop – why not join in? Basic moves will be taught on the day by qualified instructors. The entry fee for each of the fleet footed dancers taking part is R 80 (together with a bag of cat or dog food.
