Events in the Western Cape – April 2011

St Helena Bay Arts, Crafts and Food Market: This fun event will be held on Easter Saturday (the 23rd of April 2011) at the Municipal Hall in St Helena Bay from 10 AM to 2 PM. The St Helena Bay Arts & Crafts Market has broadened its base to include all manner of foodie items and is also moving its venue this year to ensure there is enough room for all who attend. There will be a wonderful mix of all types of arts & crafts, from paintings to wire work, silver jewellery to photo art on canvas and much more.There will also be a boerewors braai and delicious pancakes for those feeling a little peckish!

Fynbos and Food Event: Good Hope Nursery (a beautiful indigenous plant nursery near Cape Point) will be hosting this season’s event on Easter Monday / Family Day (the 25th of April 2011). The Fynbos and Food Event is basically a farmers market meets art in the outdoors event. The emphasis will be on food, Fynbos and local produce. In a nutshell this event = nature, music, art, great food, kids entertainment and friends. At this exciting event one can expect indigenous plants, organic produce, delicious food stalls & locally produced goods. The plant nursery will be having a clearance sale on all plants in the retail. An array of stalls including crafts, leather work, woodwork, organic fruit and vegetables, freshly baked breads, wheat free bakes, etc will be available. For the kids there will be pony rides, a jumping castle, face painting, craft work stalls, healthy food and & playground. There will be musicians playing throughout the day, a succulent koppie and sculpture footpath as well as expert gardening advice. Its bound to be a fun day for the whole family!
