Hopefield Fynbos Show: This colourful show is an annual event usually held on the last weekend of August at the Hopefield Sport Club. Recreations of more than 300 species of renosterveld, sandveld, rietveld and wetland areas of the Hopefield district will be displayed in their natural habitat. Local experts will accompany visitors on walks through the exhibition. The Fynbos Park opposite the sports grounds is currently being developed and provides a natural veld flower garden where folk can stroll around at leisure. Other activities will include a tractor ride through the veld and farmyard where various breeds of cattle, sheep, poultry and pigs can be viewed by visitors. You will also be able to enjoy a traditional meal or pannekoek and stroll through the stalls where local produce such as honey and waterblommetjies (a local delicacy) can be purchased. This event is held from Thursday the 25th of August to Sunday the 28th of August 2011.
