Malmesbury Christmas Light Festival: This event is held in Malmesburg on the 3rd of December 2010. Visitors are invited join the folk in this delightful town and celebrate the start of the Festive Season in the Swartland at this annual Malmesbury community event. There will be a street parade with a local brassband, carols and gospel performances at the Town Hall and the “switching on” of the town’s Christmas lights in the main street. Christmas shopping can also be done at a variety of stalls at the Christmas Market offering gifts, home-baked goods and a variety of other products. Bright Street Charity Carnival: This event is held on the 7th of December in Somerset West in the Western Cape. At this street carnival the road will be used for performers, stalls and the guests’ pleasure. The Bright Street Charity Carnival is held in support of the Imibala Sponsor a Child Organization. Entertainment includes Coca Cola Sound Stage performances by Akelian Circus, Jessie Jordan and Heldervue Bands, roving Belly Dancer Troupe, the Fire Poi Spinners, Drummers and many more. Refreshments will include beer, champagne, wine and cocktails, gastronomic delights encompassing anything from Greek, Chinese and Boere-Kos to Cupcakes and Candyfloss. There will be plenty of stalls for Christmas shoppers with an array of quality goods ranging from antiques to Zulu beadings. First class security and medical services will also be on hand.
