Events in the Western Cape – March 2011

Cape Gate Bridal Fair: This event is held at the Cape Gate Shopping Centre in Brackenfell, Cape Town from the 25th of March to the 27th of March 2011. The Cape Gate bridal experience will cover venues, gowns, grooms wear, accessories, hair and make-up artists, photographers and videographers, reliable transportation, magnificent flowers, cuisine, superb music and so much more. The Bridal Fair will provide brides-to-be the opportunity to ask questions, see, touch and try before you choose. Cape Gate welcomes matric pupils seeking gorgeous gowns, jewellery, assorted accessories and suit ideas in preparation for that much anticipated Matric Dance. The Cape Gate Bridal Fair will host the very popular Die Burger “Bride of the Year” show in the central promotions court on Saturday. Don’t miss this exciting show! Brides and grooms-to-be can stroll through all the creative displays located throughout the centre from 09h00 to 19h00 on Friday and Saturday and from 09h00 to 17h00 on Sunday. South African Navy Festival: This event takes place in Simon’s Town from the 1st of April 2011 to the 3rd of April 2011. There will be so much in the way of activities that we recommend booking your bed in Simon’s Town ASAP! There will be various events in the main arena that both young and old will find entertaining. Some of the standard attractions to look forward to during the festival include South African Navy ships and submarines open for public viewing, tug rides, a flea market, children’s activities, a Gun Run Display, a Navy Band performance, a SA Navy Precision Drill, a ship boarding display by the Maritime Reaction Squadron, a Lynx & Oryx Helicopters display, live cannon firings, a South African Navy diving display, a Dry Dock concert, a Right of Entry Parade through Simon’s Town, a Navy Choir performance, Night Gunnery Shoot and more. Entrance to the festival is free and gates will open daily at 10am until 6pm.
