Events in the Western Cape – November 2010

The Swartland Revolution: This event takes place in Riebeek Kasteel on the 12th and 13th of November 2010 (this coming weekend). Not many folks know that the Swartland is increasingly producing some of the most exciting wines in South Africa. This festival is likely to tell you just that. The Swartland is the most spoken about wine region of South Africa (if you visit Europe or America). The Swartland Revolution is aiming to show local why this happening. A wide range of high-end wine visitors (Private Customers, Wine Trade, and the Media) will be coming to the Valley for the weekend. Proceedings on Friday include Stephane Ogier presenting a formal sit down tasting of his world class wines (at the Royal Hotel), the Reuben Reiffel’s BBQ Extravaganza (a relaxed braai) and the Kitchen Jamming Blues Band & Jukskei Jol at The Ou Pastorie. Proceedings on Saturday include Breakfast Burgers at Short Street, The Eben and Adi Show (A morning seminar tasting into the fascinating experiments of 2 maverick winemakers at the Royal Hotel), the launch of the Swartland Independent and the SA Sommelier of the Year Award, the festival feast at Bar Bar Blacksheep and the Real Men Ferment Wild street Festival at Short Street. Tickets for the Real Men Ferment Wild festival are available for purchase separately @ R50 per person. M’hudi Entrepreneurs Market: This event takes place in Kraaifontein from 15 to 21 November 2010. M’hudi Wines invites you to join them on their 1st Annual Entrepreneurs Market. This is a week long event (which coincides with Global Entrepreneurs Week and Cape Town Entrepreneurs week). Speakers from various companies will offer assistance and support to entrepreneurs in order to get their businesses from idea to implementation stage. This is ideal if you need assistance to get your new venture off the ground or if you need to showcase your products and services. This is an ideal opportunity to network with other organizations and decision makers to kick start your business and business ideas. In May 2010 M’hudi Wines won the Emerging Tourism Entrepreneur of the Year Award (ETEYA). This event is a small way for them to provide the same opportunity to budding Entrepreneurs out there in the communities around them.
