Events in the Western Cape – November 2010

World of Dogs and Cats (WODAC) Pet Expo: This event is held in Zonnebloem in Cape Town from from the 19th to the 21st of November 2010. Visitors will be captivated by beautiful & intelligent pets and also enjoy a wealth of Christmas-themed attractions. Immerse yourself in all things pet-related to ensure that man’s best friend continues to be as healthy, happy and pampered as possible. 3 Peaks Challenge: The event is described as a knee buckling trail run and is held on the 6th of November 2010 in Cape Town. This event will take runners on a trail run across 3 famous peaks in Cape Town: Devils Peak, Table Mountain and Lions Head.  This is a rewarding challenge and to conquer all 3 peaks in one day is certainly something to be proud of. The route covers a distance of 21-27 km with climbs of almost 2000m. The event starts at Table Mountain, Lower Cable Car Station, Tafelberg Road. The 3 Peaks challenge commemorates Carl Wilhelm Schneeberger. In 1897 he successfully ascended Devil’s Peak, Table Mountain and Lion’s Head. His start and end point was the old Johannesburg Hotel in Long Street. For more information phone 021-7614438.
