Events in the Western Cape – October 2010

Cape Outdoor Eco Adventure and Travel Expo 2010: This event is held at the Bien Donne Agricultural Farm on the R45 between Paarl and Franschhoek in the Western Cape from Friday the 1st of October to Sunday the 3rd of October 2010. The Cape Outdoor Eco Adventure and Travel Expo allows visitors to explore caravans, 4x4s, trailers, tents, accessories, destinations, adventure activities and more. The 2010 edition of the event will have more exhibits and more adventure, an ideal day out for the family to enjoy. The Coca-Cola Rig will provide live entertainment. There will also be the Water Walker, Bungi Bounce, Climbing Wall, Cave of Horrors, Reptiles and more. SA Guide Dogs are also inviting visitors to bring your Social Dog on a lead to accompany you. The expo is open from 10 AM to 7 PM on Friday, from 9 AM to 7 PM on Saturday and from 9 AM to 5:30 PM on Sunday. Special parking facilities will be available for disabled persons and those with prams. Tickets for children between 7 and 16 years old are R10, tickets for pensioners and students are R25 and tickets for adults over 17 years are R50. Children less than 7 years old can enter for free. Freshpak Rooibos Fitness Festival: This event is held in Clanwilliam in the Western Cape on the 2nd of October 2010. It’s the 24th annual edition of this festival. The assortment of sporting events available means that everyone from the super-fit to the less competitive can partake in the fun. A 3 km swim, a biathlon (which combines a 5 km run with 20 km of cycling) and a tougher triathlon (involving an 800 metre swim, 20 km cycle and 5 km run) are some of the events on the day. The little ones will have the opportunity to flex their muscles in the popular FitKids event which involves both running and swimming. Contestants stand the chance of winning cash prizes as well as one of the many spot prizes available. The Freshpak Fitness Festival is all about promoting a healthy, active lifestyle. For more information phone 021 8489407.
