The 2016 Cape Town Sevens

So why should you attend the HSBC Sevens in Cape Town? Well, it promises to be an action packed, exciting weekend of rugby from across the world. With countries like Fiji and Argentina coming to showcase their skill on the field.

Taking place on 10 and 11 December at the Cape Town Stadium it promises to be an exciting and thrilling tournament, where the best in 7s Rugby come together to battle it out for the number one spot.

Last year, the inaugural event in Cape Town was so popular, all the tickets sold out and fans from around South Africa came to support the Blitzboks, who had a final victory over Argentina, and placed second.

Known for its excellent standards, key planning and support from fans, the tournament is exciting and the second Cape Town Sevens is sure to be a world class and show stopping event in December. Drawing in local and international fans who come to Cape Town to experience the magic of rugby and all the city has to offer.

The HSBC World Sevens Series in Cape Town will see sixteen of the best International Sevens Rugby teams take on each other for the top spot at Cape Town Stadium. It is going to heat up and make for a thrilling weekend.

The stadium too will be transformed into a rugby haven with entertainment, prizes, competitions and much more. You’ll find a beer garden, Food Lover’s Market food and stands, which will be offering a range of delectable food, perfect for all needs.

You’ll also find a family stand, with a Kiddies Play Village for those with young ones. The Kiddies Play Village is free of charge.

Another great feature is the MyCiti bus service, which will be tailored to cater for the event, and help with congestion, parking and overall transport efficiency. Schedules for the bus service will go out closer to the time.

Tickets for last year’s event sold out quickly, so you should get your hands on tickets for this year’s event as soon as you can to avoid disappointment. While all private suites have sold out, you can still choose from a range of Cape Town Sevens tickets and packages, which start at R2 995 per person per day and allow you to make the most of the day.

The 2016/2017 HSBC Sevens Series Calendar

As in previous years, the HSBC Sevens Series will start in Dubai and will be taking place on 5 continents and 10 cities, ensuring that fans across the globe can experience the best 7s Rugby has to offer.

Sevens Rugby action will start off in Dubai on the 2nd and 3rd of December after which you can catch the Cape Town Sevens on the 10th and 11th of December. Once you have your hands on some awesome Cape Town Sevens tickets, remember to book your accommodation in Cape Town in advance.

2017’s Rugby Sevens action will kick off in Wellington on the 28th and 29th of January followed by some action in Sydney on the 4th and 5th of February. Las Vegas will see action on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of March, 2017, after which the teams move on to Vancouver on the 11th and 12th of March.

From the 7th until the 9th of April, 2017, the teams will face each other in Hong Kong before moving on to Singapore on the 15th and 16th of April. The Paris Rugby Sevens will take place on the 13th and 14th of May before the teams faceoff in London on the 20th and 21st of May, 2017.
