Cape Townians brace yourself! The Good Food and Wine Show is coming to the Mother City soon. The event will be held at the Cape Town International Convention Center from the 23rd to the 26th of May.
The Good Food and Wine Show is one of South Africa’s finest food and beverage exhibitions. The event attracts more than 130,000 visitors annually and has become of the premier events on Cape Town’s gourmet calendar. Gourmets, gourmands and good-life devotees can expect an exciting line-up of some of the finest international celebrity chefs. They will be accompanied by some of South Africa’s first class chefs in nine state-of-the-art kitchen theatres and a number of speciality shows. Brace yourself for hands-on workshops, big-name book signings and supreme organic produce offers. You will also have the opportunity to watch and learn from the grand masters of food, wine, gourmet travel and lifestyle.
British chef Gordon Ramsay (who needs no introduction) will be the headliner at the Good Food and Wine Show. You will also have the chance to spot French chef Eric Lanlard, Australian chef Bill Granger and The Bliss Sisters (who won the Australian Junior Masterchef competition). The event will also feature a DSTV VIP lounge and photo booth, the premier of the SA Bar Show (which will feature the finest in all spirits brands, liqueurs, beer, craft beers, champagne and sparkling wine brands) and a Best of Cape Town exhibition. The Good Food and Wine show also plays host to the National Mixology Championships (a competition where South Africa’s top cocktail craftsmen compete to represent South Africa at the World Championships).
Tickets to the Good Food and Wine Show can be purchased at the door or online. Tickets cost R110 for adults and R55 for children. Tickets include free food and wine sampling, free live demonstration by your favorite BBC celebrity chef in the Chefs in Action Theatre and live demonstrations in no less than 9 additional theatres with top local and International Chefs and Wine Connoisseurs.
