Change to a healthy lifestyle!

Healthy-livingFebruary is very well known for being the month of love, but did you know it is also healthy lifestyle awareness month?

It makes sense to have a month dedicated to the healthy lifestyle awareness after we all over-indulged in the summer holiday. It serves to remind us that we need to look after ourselves.

Here are some basic tips on staying healthy:

  • We have to eat to stay healthy and maintain our bodies, but not to overindulge. Make sure the bulk of your food is vegetables or fruits and you should be healthier.
  • Exercise regularly to prevent age-related illnesses coming on too early! It can also help prevent coronary heart disease, stroke and diabetes, obesity and high blood pressure among others.
  • Avoid tobacco use. Tobacco use can cause cancers of the lung, mouth, lip, tongue, oesophagus, kidney and bladder. It takes a life-long commitment to remain nicotine-free! Start now to get your body healthy!
  • Do not consume large quantities of alcohol. Chronic, excess alcohol consumption is the major cause of liver cirrhosis. Liver cirrhosis can cause internal haemorrhage, fluid accumulation in the abdomen, easy bleeding and bruising, muscle wasting, mental confusion, infections, and in advanced cases, coma and kidney failure.

These tips are just basic ways to immediately better your lifestyle. If you need assistance with your lifestyle changes, look for a healthy lifestyle health practitioner on Junk Mail. You can even start your own cycle club or exercise group, simply advertise on Junk Mail and make friends while becoming healthy!
