Good news: singer-songwriter, Kris Kristofferson, has confirmed that he will be performing in South Africa early 2014. Hilltop Live and Kyknet are very proud to announce the first South African tour for Kristofferson.
Kris Kristofferson ranks amongst the most versatile of American talents and he is also in the Country Music Hall of Fame. Not only can the man sing, but he will also be to throw a punch if you don’t like his music (joke), as he was a Golden Gloves boxer too. A scholar at Rhodes, football star, an acclaimed actor, ánd a Grammy winner. Talented, much?
Born on the 22nd of June, 1936, Kristofferson, (who is now 77 years of age), finally decided to break his South African virginity. He will be performing at the Big Top Arena in Carnival City, Johannesburg on the 22nd of March. Next he will be the Grand Arena, Grand West Casino and then at the Entertainment World in Cape Town on the 26th of March.
Kristofferson initially threw away a promising career within the military industry for his current lifestyle where he proudly calls himself “A songwriting bum”. He excelled in almost any task that he encountered, except for singing and songwriting, but it was exactly thís that appealed to him. He ended up producing some of the best classics including “Me and BobyMcgee”, “Help Me Make It Through The Night” and “For the Good Times”.
Tickets to these events will be on sale from today, so you should definitely have a look – there just might be Kris Kristofferson tickets for sale on Junk Mail. Ticket prices start at R500, but you should be able to spot a bargain on Junk Mail.
