It’s almost time for the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown!

Awesome news for all art lovers, The National Arts Festival will be on from 2 – 12 July 2015!

National Arts FestivalThis annual event is the biggest arts festival of its kind on the African continent. It always runs from the end of June or beginning of July for 11 days in the small university town of Grahamstown.
The National Arts Festival Office administers all programmes that form part of this Festival. Sponsorships for the Festival is, among others, Eastern Cape Government, Standard Bank, National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund, National Arts Council, Transnet, City Press and MNet.
There is a wide variety of shows, comprising of drama, dance, theatre, music art exhibitions and craft fairs. Festival goers can also take tours of the local and surrounding historic places. The Festival serves as an important forum for political and protest theatre and it offers an opportunity for experimentation across the arts spectrum. Its significance as a forum for new ideas and an indicator of future trends in the arts cannot be underestimated.
