Are you a foodie? Do you live in Johannesburg or its surrounding areas? Well, if your answer to both of these questions is a resounding “YES”, I’ve got great news for you! Prep those taste buds and lick those food loving lips for a culinary feast because the 7th annual Pick n Pay Taste of Joburg is coming soon.
This top culinary event takes place at Montecasino’s Outdoor Events arena from the 26th to the 29th of September 2013. Pick n Pay Taste of Joburg is the city of gold’s premier food festival and will feature 12 of Johannesburg’s top restaurants. Each restaurant will be creating special menus for starter size dishes for the event. This will also include signature dishes (created by featured chefs). The signature dishes are designed to reflect their philosophy and showcase seasonal and premium ingredients in a gourmet setting.
The 12 restaurants who will be represented at this year’s event are African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel, Beefcakes Burger Bar, Coobs, Gwefey Redefined Asian Cuisine, La Cucina Di Ciro, Lacuna Bistro, Prosopa, 3 Sixty Liquid Lounge, 2 Thai 4, Thava Indian Restaurant, The Grazing Room and Vivaci Restaurant (at The Raddison Blu Sandton). Enjoy live demonstrations from chefs who work at these fine establishments at the Pick n Pay Chef’s Theatre or learn from some of them at the Pick n Pay Wine and Canapé Experience.
Pick n Pay Taste of Joburg will also feature boutique exhibitors, artisan producers, craft brewers, premium drink brands and award-winning wineries. There will be a lot of food and drink on offer that is sure to satisfy the foodie inside everyone who’s attending this extraordinary event. This year the organizers have gone out of their way to up the standard on every aspect of the festival to ensure that this edition will be exceed the success of previous shows.
This festival of food will be open from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM on Thursday 26 Sept and Friday 27 Sept, from 1 PM to 5 PM and 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM on Saturday 28 September and from 12 noon to 5 PM on Sunday the 29th of September. Tickets are priced from R80, include a tasting glass and can be bought on the iTickets website. Booking is essential.
