Quench your thirst at the Joburg Festival of Beer

Today I have great news for the beer loving people of Johannesburg and Gauteng: It’s almost beer o’clock. The Joburg Festival of Beer is coming to Pirates Sports Club in Greenside from the 6th to the 8th of September 2013.

This event promises to be one of the highlights on the Johannesburg social calendar. Punters should prepare themselves to enter a beer haven. Beer appreciators will have the opportunity to compare and taste over 150 beers from brewers across South Africa and the world.

Joburg Festival of Beer

The Joburg Festival of Beer will transform Pirates Sports Club into a 2300 square meter showcase for all things beer. Expect stands featuring local and international brewers, home brewers, craft and mega brewers, beer tours, brewing demonstrations, beer pairings and lots more. In true Festival of Beer style visitors will be able to enjoy free sample for ALL beers on show.

The Cape Town Festival of Beer (which is currently the biggest festival of beer in Africa) has been such a huge success that the organizers have decided to create a Johannesburg leg for this awesome event.  Their timing is perfect: there’s currently a huge interest brewing for craft beer in Jozi and Gauteng in general. It’s the perfect opportunity for Johannesburg brewers to exhibit their beers and for Cape Town brewers to introduce their brews to the Johannesburg market.

Visitors can look forward to a Beer Pong tournament (which will be running over the whole weekend at the festival). Think you’ve got what it takes? Enter your Beer Pong team now on the Joburg Festival of Beer Facebook page. You could stand a chance to win some cool prizes!

Punters are advised to book in advance to make sure that they get their table at this amazing festival. Please contact the organizers for table reservations. Take note that tables seat up to 10 people and are perfect for large groups of friends, family or colleagues. Tickets cost only R120 per day and are selling fast on Web Tickets, so make sure that you get yours. For more information visit the Joburg Festival of Beer website, check out their Facebook page or follow @FestOfBeer on Twitter.

Share this article now. Tell all your beer loving friends on Twitter and Facebook about this, they will most likely thank you for it or at least buy you a brew when you meet up with them at the festival.
