Do you wish you could reach for your slippers and wear them everywhere you go? Well, then this event might just be what you’ve been waiting for. The Reach for a Dream foundation are hosting a fund raiser on the 24th of August 2013 in Pretoria and are encouraging all of you to pull on those fluffy slippers and join them for an evening of amazing company, music, snacks, drinks, beauty and charity. You’ll also have the chance to rub shoulders with stunning models in designer wear and South African stars.
If you decide to reach for your slippers and attend this event you’ll be supporting a good cause. The Reach for a Dream Foundation hosted their annual Slipper Day on the 2nd of August 2013 and this fashion show fundraiser is part of their National Slipper campaign. All proceeds of this fundraiser will be going towards making the dreams come true for children suffering from life-threatening illnesses.
There will be a prize for the person wearing the most creative slippers, so wear that fluffy animal pair that you normally only wear around the house. Each guest will also receive a goodie bag filled with surprises. There will be a short word of welcome from the Reach for a Dream foundation, followed by the announcement of the winner for the most creative slippers and then guests will be entertained by the fashion show. A cash bar will also be available for the thirsty.
This event will be held at the Protea Manor Hotel in Hatfield (on the corner of Burnett and Festival streets) and will start at 6:30 PM. The entrance to the hotel’s undercover parking area is in Festival Street and additional parking is provided at Interpark with the entrance in Hilda Street. Attendees are encouraged to dress semi-formally and wear their favorite pair of slippers. Tickets cost R50 per person and can be bought at the door.
