The 2013 Nedbank Golf Challenge

The Nedbank Golf ChallengeIt is that time of the year for one of South Africa’s most renowned golf tournaments to take place. That’s right, The Nedbank Golf Challenge is teeing off tomorrow.

For those who are not too familiar with this golf tournament (where have you been?!), it is also referred to as The Million Dollar Challenge. The golf course is at the Gary Player Country Club situated at Sun City and is consistently rated as the best in South Africa.

The tournament is an invitational stroke play event. Players are chosen on merit, with the field being made up of the defending champion (Martin Kaymer, Germany), The Sunshine Tour order of merit winner, the four major winners, and topped off with the top players in the Official World Golf Rankings.

The Nedbank Golf Challenge prize money ranges from $295 000 for fifth place, and a whopping $1,250 000 for the champion! If that does not convince you to start taking up the old clubs, then I don’t know what will.

Tickets range from R80 to R200. For more information about tickets and pricing, have a look at The Nedbank Golf Challenge website.
