The Springboks have been doing well in the 2011 IRB Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, winning both the group matches that they’ve played so far. South Africa beat Wales by 17 points to 16 on the 11th of September and South Africa beat Fiji by 49 points to 3 on the 17th of September. Both matches were played at the Wellington Regional Stadium.
South African fly half Morné Steyn is currently the joint top scoring player in the tournament. He’s scored 28 points for his country in the 2011 IRB Rugby World Cup so far. The Springboks will face Namibia in their next group match on Thursday (the 22nd of September) at North Harbour Stadium and Samoa in their last group match on the 30th of September (also at North Harbour Stadium).
It seems that the whole of South Africa is getting behind the Springboks. The Junk Mail team recently got into the World Cup Spirit at their head office in Pretoria (as you can see in the photo in the top right of this post).
