The Getaway Show 2016 is scheduled to take place from the 23rd to 25th of September 2016. The much anticipated event will be held at the TicketPro Dome in Johannesburg, the main sponsor of the event being Mercedes-Benz vans.

Keeping busy at this year’s event
If you are looking for some excitement, head to the adventure area. Adrenaline junkies will enjoy the climbing wall. The laser shooting will also get your heart racing. You can also experience slacklining in the exciting adventure area.
If you are looking for relaxing entertainment, you can visit the Travel and Taste Theatre. In this section of the Getaway Show you can see the latest in South African food and alcoholic beverages. Visit the Wine Village to sample a wide range of wines. Visitors to the show can sit back, relax and enjoy live music at the beer tent. If you need a time out from the hustle and bustle of the show head to the Chill Zone for a cup of coffee. The food stores offer a wide range of delicious meals to choose from.

During the workshop Michael Tucker will teach you creative techniques as well as more about exposure and balance. The workshop runs on the 24th and 25th of September from 10am to 3pm. The cost of the workshop is R100 which includes entrance to the show. You need to book your place if you want to attend.
The Travel and Tourism Conference is scheduled for 21st September from 8:30 to 16:30. The aim of this conference is to offer assistance for online travel businesses. Expert advice is provided by Dave Duarte and William Price. Tickets cost R 1200 per person and you should book your space at the conference to avoid missing out.
History and ticket info
As one of the annual events in Gauteng, the Getaway Show attracts hundreds of travelling enthusiasts. Tickets can be purchased online or on the day at the entrance to the show. Adults pay R50 to enter the show on Friday while entrance is R70 on the weekend. Pensioners over 60 years as well as students will be charged R40. Children who are younger than 12 years enter for free. A family of four can buy a family pass for the cost of R150 per day. Complementary entry is available for Mercedes-Benz key holders.
