The 2011 IRB Rugby World Cup kicks off tomorrow (the 9th of September 2011). South Africa play their first match on Sunday against Wales. The whole country will be backing the Springboks as they embark on the journey to defend their 2007 IRB Rugby World Cup title.
Everyone is getting into the Rugby World Cup spirit, even the Junk Mail team. Yesterday we asked Junk Mail users to vote for their favorite Junk Mail Rugby Logo.
Junk Mail fans voted vigorously for all 3 logos, but in the end there could only be one winning logo. The winning logo will be displayed on the Junk Mail website for the duration of the 2011 IRB Rugby World Cup.
The winning logo that was voted for by YOU (the Junk Mail’s fans) is… The South African Flag Logo
The South African flag (Logo 3) was the most popular logo and won the title of the BEST Junk Mail Rugby logo by 1 vote. The patriotism of our nation shows as Junk Mail will also be waving the flag for our Bokke as they do their best to bring the Webb Ellis Trophy back home for the second time in a row.
At the Springbok Rugby World Cup send-off on the 29th of August, President Zuma had the following message for our Bokke, “We stand united as this very moment as a nation, as we bid farewell to our Bokke, the World Champions. Remember that you have a huge responsibility. You are carrying on your shoulders the dreams and aspirations of the rainbow nation.”
He continued to encourage the Springboks by saying, “We want to be the one of the countries to successfully defend its Rugby World Champion Title, and we believe you can do it! Go out there and do your best, and the best, is to bring the trophy back to Mzansi. This is your national duty. Go out there and make us proud as you have done before!”
No pressure to the Springboks as the whole country is behind you, even across the seas!
The Junk Mail team would like to take this opportunity to thank our fans and users for embracing their inner Bokke by making your mark!
