All of you are invited to visit the Transoranje Christmas market, a fundraiser for the Transoranje School for the Deaf. The event will be held from the 18th of November to the 27th of November 2011 in Hall L at the Tshwane Events Centre (formerly known as the Pretoria Showgrounds). The Transoranje Christmas market is ideal for the whole family – you can basically do all your Christmas shopping under one roof in a safe, spacious and joyful atmosphere. For those of you who did not know, the Transoranje School for the Deaf provides specialized education to children from the age of 3 years up to Grade 12, who have severe hearing disabilities.
This is the 15th time that the Transoranje Christmas Market takes place. The Guardian for the event is the famous Hanna Grobler. More than 270 exhibitors will ensure a wide range of beautiful items for young and old. Visitors can enjoy a light meal and cup of tea at the Tea Garden. This year features a new daily program with Free Demonstrations on different topics (e.g. beads, table decorations, gift decorations, olives, pavlova’s, fabric painting, mosaic, etc).
There will be also be an Art competition – all scholars are encouraged to enter. Prizes will be given for the 1st and 2nd in each age division. Finalists will be announced and art pieces exhibited at the Christmas Market. Winners will be announced on Saturday the 26th of November.
Entrance is free and the Christmas Market will be open from 9 AM to 8 PM on weekdays, 9 AM – 4 PM on Saturday and 9 AM to 3 PM on Sunday. For more information phone the Transoranje School for the Deaf on 012 3866072/5.
