Each year South Africans take a stand against violence towards women and children from 25 November – 10 December. The campaign was launched by President Jacob Zuma in Reiger Park on 25 November. This community was chosen specifically after 2 young boys from the area died violently.
The Department of Women is hosting dialogues on a National and Provincial level to eradicate the prevalence of this ‘disease’ in South Africa. These dialogues will involve ‘multidisciplinary and inter-departmental teams’ and will allow everyone to take part in identifying methods of eradicating violence against women and children.
