16 Days of Activism starts!

16 Days of ActivismThe theme for this year’s 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children Campaign is ‘Count me in’.

Each year South Africans take a stand against violence towards women and children from 25 November – 10 December. The campaign was launched by President Jacob Zuma in Reiger Park on 25 November. This community was chosen specifically after 2 young boys from the area died violently.

The Department of Women is hosting dialogues on a National and Provincial level to eradicate the prevalence of this ‘disease’ in South Africa. These dialogues will involve ‘multidisciplinary and inter-departmental teams’ and will allow everyone to take part in identifying methods of eradicating violence against women and children.
