Johannesburg Clivia Club Show coming soon!

Are you an avid gardener, botanist or full-time flower lover? Well, then I have great news for you! The Johannesburg Clivia Club Show may just be the event that you have been waiting for. This annual show will be held at the Garden World Nursery on Beyers Naude Drive in Muldersdrift (North West of Joburg) on the 14th and 15th of September 2013. The event is presented by the Johannesburg Clivia Club (which was formed in 2005 and allows like minded people to meet once a month).

Clivias 01

Clivias are indigenous to South Africa and likes semi-shady conditions. Clivias are also drought tolerant and tolerate temperatures down to just above freezing.  If you have clivias in your garden protection against frost is recommended in the South African Winter months. Clivias bloom in September and it’s quite a dramatic affair: blooming occurs in shades of yellow, peach, orange or red with white orange or green centres.

Clivias 02

Visitors to the Johannesburg Clivia Show are invited to view the colourful clivia flowers on display. Gardeners who have clivias in their garden and other prospective clivia growers also have a unique opportunity to obtain useful information on the propagation, cultivation and control of pests and diseases. There will also be plenty of clivia flowers available for sale. For more information visit the Johannesburg Clivia Club website or phone Braam on 011 1452586 or Glynn on 082 6501463.
