The MB&F HM4 Final Edition
With just eight of these pieces released in this Horological Machine Number 4 (HM4) edition, it completed the Swiss manufacturer’s MB&F collection of 100 pieces manufactured from the start of 2010. With aviation inspired details, the time is displayed via a horizontal window. The second horizontal window on the watch act a power reserve.
Priced at $ 230 000, this piece boasts black titanium details and a striking look.
Chopard L.U.C Tourbillon Baguette
Sporting a price tag of $ 240 000, this watch is decorated with baguette-cut stones totalling 27 carats. With only 25 of these watches produced, it is not only a unique piece, but also makes the list of most expensive watches in the world.
Shabaka by Jean Dunand
With a price tag of $ 500 000, this art-deco inspired watch also features neo-Egyptian themes, boasting rolling cylinders that display continuous calendar movements. The watch company itself was founded by Christophe Claret in 2003.
The Maitres du Temps Chapter One Round Transparence
Priced at $ 540 000, this piece was released in 2008. With complex pieces, it is said that that this watch helped to frame an era of creative design in the watchmaking industry. Modern, this watch features beautifully intricate details, a breath-taking design and a look that is truly unforgettable.
DualTow Night Eagle by Christophe Claret
Carrying a price tag of $ 595 000, it is definitely not hard to see why these watches for sale are so pricy. With only 68 of these mens for watches for sale, the time is represented on two moving belts and the watch itself also includes a meticulously crafted planetary gear system.
Interesting Note: Christopher Claret was born in 1962 in Lyon, France. He attended the Geneva Watchmaking School in 1978 and graduated in 1982.
Co-Axial Chronograph by George Daniel
George Daniel, considered by many as one of the 20th century’s most important watchmakers, produced only a handful of pieces during his day, with the Co-Axial Escapement system one of his most notable accomplishments. This Co-Axial Chronograph is one of Daniel’s many unique pieces and was last sold at an auction in 2012 for a whopping $ 619 000.
Interesting Note: George Daniel was born in August of 1926 and passed away in October of 2011. The Co-Axial Escapement system was sold to Omega and has been used in their watches since 1999.
Magsonic Sonnerie Tourbillon by Bulgari
With a price tag of $ 620 000, this beautiful watch was created when the Gerald Genta brand was incorporated into Bulgari. The result of this incorporation? A piece that featured chiming functions, a tourbillon style regulation system and over 900 hand finished parts.
Interesting Note: Gerald Genta, born in 1931 and passing away in 2011, was a Swiss watch designer who worked with a number of companies during his day including Patek Philippe, IWC, Audemars Piguet and Universal Geneve, to name but a few.
The Royal Oak Grande Complication for Audemars Piguet
Designed by Gerald Genta, the Royal Oak designs created for Audemars Piguet has been the image of sports luxury since the early seventies and this Grande Complication watch is one of the most complicated and exclusive watches in the collection. Various movements are beautifully combined (chronograph, time and calendar) to deliver an exclusive piece priced at $ 741 600.
The Excalibur Quatuor by Roger Dubuis
Released in 2013, these watches for sale carry a heavy price tag of $ 1.1 million. Taking a total of 2 400 hours to assemble (with a total of 590 parts) and a whopping seven years of research, there are only three of its kind. Intricate and just plain beautiful, this watch moves away from the tourbillon system, opting instead for four sprung balances, pulsing four times every second.
Hybris Mechanica á Grande Sonnerie by Jaeger-LeCoultre
Considered as one of the most complicated mens watches for sale, this piece carries a price tag of $ 1.5 million and features a jaw dropping 1 472 pieces. Spending five years in development, it is easy to see why this piece is one of the most expensive watches in the world.
This piece includes a Hybris Mechanica 55 Safe. A code secured trunk, coated in leather, featuring a sound system that will allow you to hear the chiming.
Art Piece 1 by Greubel Forsey
With a price estimated between one and two million dollars, this uniquely crafted piece features a microscopic sculpture by Willard Wigan. Other features of this watch include a sapphire back and double tourbillons.
The Tourbillon RM 56-02 Sapphire by Richard Mille
A watch with a transparent case crafted from solid sapphire, only ten of these watches were produced, costing $ 2.02 million. Water resistant (for up to three metres), the movements inside the watch is crafted using titanium.
The Aeternitas Mega 4 by Frank Muller
One of the most complicated watches of its time, this $ 2.4 million piece showcases 36 distinct complications, almost 1 500 parts and a complex movement that will blow your socks off. Intricate and beautiful, this watch, by Frank Muller, is truly a uniquely crafted timepiece.
The Grandmaster Chime by Patek Philippe
Released in 2014 to honour its 175th anniversary, this piece costs around $ 2.6 million and boasts a total of 20 complications. With 214 parts, this watch was under development for a total of eight years, requiring over 100 000 man hours.
Easily one of the most expensive watches you will come across, it has two faces – a calendar face and a time face.
5004T by Patek Philippe
Produced in 2013 for an auction, this watch is the only titanium version of the 5004 series of watches for sale. While the 5004 series was more conservative, Patek Philippe gave the titanium version a sporty look. An absolutely unique piece, this watch was sold at auction for $ 3 985 000 back in 2013.
The Graff Diamonds Hallucination by Graff Jewellery
Definitely one of the most expensive ladies watches you will come across, this piece debuted in 2014 and is priced at $ 55 million. Why? Because it has a total of 110 carats of rare coloured diamonds ranging from Fancy Vivid Yellow and Light Grey Blue, to Fancy Light Pink and Intense Blue.
