Prepare Yourself for Olympus Has Fallen

Scottish actor Gerald Butler (who has appeared in films like 300 and The Bounty Hunter) and American actor Aaron Eckhart (who has appeared in films like The Core and Battle Los Angeles) are currently in South Africa to promote their new film, Olympus has Fallen (which starts in South African movie theaters this week). They attended the South African red carpet premiere of the film at The Zone in Rosebank last night.

Movie buffs and fans should note that Gerard Butler and Aaron Eckart will be on Jacaranda FM this afternoon sometime between 4 PM and 7 PM today, so don’t forget to tune in if you wanna hear what they have to say.

The film was already released in the United States on the 22nd of March and has already earned more than $76 million at the box office. Besides Butler and Eckhart the film also features appearances by Finley Jacobsen, Dylan McDermott, Rick Yune, Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett and others. The film is directed by Antoine Fuqua (who also directed the 2003 film Tears from the Sun and the 2001 film Training Day). The screenplay for the film was written by  Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt.

Olympus Has Fallen tells the story of a disgraced former Presidential guard finding himself trapped inside the White House in the wake of a terrorist attack. Using his inside knowledge, he works with national security to rescue the President from his kidnappers. Olympus Has Fallen has been labeled as an Action Thriller and has receive mixed reviews from critics in the United States. This should not discourage you from watching the film though. Check out the trailer for the film below and decide if this will be your cup of tea or not.
