Afriski Winterfest information

Excitement is mounting as the festival date draws closer. This is the 5th year this awesome event is taking place and this year the Afriski Winterfest is held from 22 to 25 August in Lesotho. Packages include backpacker, 4-sleeper, 5-sleeper, 8-sleeper accommodation, and a 3-day festival pass. You can also buy a 1-day pass to ensure you get your slice on the fun.

Haven’t skied before? This is the perfect opportunity to get started as your package includes skiing and snowboarding lessons as well as gear rental. Bumboarding and tubing are other exhilarating winter sports you’ll have the opportunity to experience.

Very important:

  • You’ll need to bring a valid passport, driver’s licence, and vehicle license
  • The borders open at 6 am and close at 6 pm
  • Unabridged birth certificate if you’re travelling with children under the age of 18
  • SA debit and credit card (please arrange with your bank to authorise usage in Lesotho)
  • Medical aid (please activate your cross-border benefits with your medical aid provider)
  • Remember to refuel before crossing the border, there is no fuel at Afriski

What to expect at the festival?

Afriski Winterfest boasts multiple music stages where you’ll have the opportunity to see artists and DJs in action. With themed parties being held over the three days, you can expect to see some of the best local artists at this year’s event. In the past, the line-up has included Good Luck and Desmond and the Tutus. Morena Leraba will return to this year’s festival to captivate your attention with a distinctive blend of singing, rapping, and poetry.

  • Unplugged stage

The unplugged stage provides a cosy venue where you can listen to a range of artists. Grab a glass of wine and warm up at the fireplace where you’ll benefit from exceptional service from the Sky Restaurant’s staff.

  • Hot Box Stage

Party through the night at the Hot Box Stage. Situated indoors near Gondola Café, you’re in for a wild music experience when you visit this part of the festival.

  • Main Stage

Be a part of the action by visiting the Afriski Winterfest Main Stage. The incredible line-up is sure to impress any music lover. If you want to hear your favourite big bands perform live, this is the place to be.
