The first Rise and Shine festival was held in March 2013. This event has the potential to become one of the premier one day music festivals in Gauteng. The first edition of the event featured awesome performances by Jeremy Loops, Shadowclub, Shotgun Tori, Tidal Waves and other brilliant South African artists and was well attended by fans of local music.
The next edition of Rise and Shine Festival will be held at the Sandton Central Park in Johannesburg on the 8th of June 2013. The venue is located only 2 km from the Sandton Gautrain Station which means that it’s the ideal day trip for music fans living in Pretoria, Midrand, Centurion, Rosebank or near O.R. Tambo International Airport. If you are driving to the festival, be sure to fill your car with friends. Parking at Sandton City is R10 for the day and it’s only a 500m walk from the park.
The following at artists will be performing at the festival: Black Cat Bones, Naming James, Francois van Coke, Them Particles, G-Force, Laurie Levine, Earl Grey & Croquet and Lucy Kruger. Besides the music you will also have the opportunity to experience some nature and enjoy some good food and you will also have to choice to refresh yourself with some hot coffee or cold drinks at the bar. For an ideal experience, arrive early, stretch your legs, dig your toes into the grass and enjoy Sandton’s garden oasis.

In association with Greenpop, the awesome folks at Rise and Shine Festival will plant a tree for every 50 people who are attending the festival. Tickets to this eco-friendly event cost onlyR150 via online presale (on Ticketbreak) or R200 at the gate on the day. You can also buy a Green Ticket for R250 via online pre-sale.
