Fans of comic book and Superhero films should brace themselves! There is a new Superman movie coming in 2013! The film is entitled Man of Steel and is scheduled for release on the 14th of June 2013 in the United States and the 28th of June 2013 in South Africa.
Man of Steel is directed by Zack Snyder (who has gained fame for directing films like Sucker Punch, Watchmen, 300 and Dawn of the Dead) and written by David S. Goyer and Christopher Nolan (who has directed the last three Batman films and is also producing this film).
The new Superman Movie will feature appearances by an all star cast. Audiences can look forward to performances by Henry Cavil (a British actor who will play the role of Clark Kent / Superman), Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Michael Shannon, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Laurence Fishburne, Christopher Meloni, Jadin Gould and others.
Man of Steel re-tells the original Superman story of Clark Kent (who is transported from his dying planet of Krypton) and is adopted as a child by Jonathan and Martha Kent. Kent develops awesome abilities, grows up to be a journalist and when the earth is attacked he becomes Superman (who vows to protect the earth and the people).
The Superman character was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster and first appeared in a comic book in 1938. Man of Steel is the first Superman film since Superman Returns in 2006. In fact, the Superman character will celebrate it’s 75th anniversary in 2013. The film is one of the most anticipated film releases of next year.
