Brave Movie Trailer

Remember the Toy Story films? Remember Monsters Inc, Up and Finding Nemo ? Most you reading this blog post might agree that these films are some of the best animated movies made of all time. What they all have in common is the fact that they were all made by the same animation studio, Pixar Films.

For those of you who did not know. Pixar Films was actually founded in 1979, bought out by former Apple CEO Steve Jobs in 1986 and bought out again by the Walt Disney Company in 2006. To date Walt Disney has released 13 films under the Pixar Films label since 1995. The company has won numerous awards over the years, including 26 Academy Awards.

Great news for fans of animated films is that Pixar Films are back with a brand new animated feature! Their latest offering is called Brave and its set in the highlands of 10th century Scotland. A skilled archer named Merida (who is voiced by Kelly Macdonald) defies an age-old custom and causes chaos in her kingdom.

The film also features the voice talents of Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson, Julie Walters, Robbie Coltrane and various others. Brave is directed by Mar Andrews and Brenda Chapman. Brave was released in the United States on the 22nd of June and should reach South African shores on the first weekend in August 2012. Brave features some of the best animation seen in any animated film to date. Pixar and Disney are definitely not disappointing in this department if you look at the trailer for the film below.
