This event is held at Brightwater Commons in Randburg on Saturday the 28th of January 2012. They are giving you a good reason to enjoy a celebration with their Chinese New Year event – The Year of the Dragon this year!
The exciting performance by the China National Acrobatics Troupe (which incorporates music, dance, opera and Kung fu into their acrobatic programmes) simply can not be missed. The opening ceremony is bound to be quite ravishing and will include a colourful display of Dragon and Lion dancing.
Bring your whole family along and make yourself at home on the grassy commons (where you will be able to enjoy the display on stage). Visitors are advised to pack a picnic basket or try the Chinese delicacies that are sure to tantalise their taste buds which will be available at the variety of food stalls.
There will also be a Photographic Architectural Exhibition of Beijing on show in the Promotions Court to help bring the Far East closer to home. Visitors to the Chinese New Year Event will get the chance to learn more about Chinese arts and crafts with Paper Cutting, Sugar Art, Calligraphy (as well as see some amazing Noodle Art).
Exhibitions and Stalls will be opening at 11 AM. The Opening Ceremony for the event will commence at 1 PM, followed by a two hour long 2 part Culture Variety show from 2 PM and the China National Acrobatic Troupe at 4 PM. For more information about this event, phone Candice on 082 4025774.
