The Synergy Live music festival is coming this weekend. From the 25th to the 27th of November Western Cape music fans will be able to make their way to one of most exciting events on the South African music festival calendar. Synergy Live will take place at the Boschendal Wine Estate (near Franschoek) in the Western Cape.
South Africa’s own The Narrow headlines the SA contingent at Synergy Live this year. Their album Self Concious was voted best rock album and was nominated for a SAMA (South African Music Award). The rest of the line-up includes Isochronous, Desmond and the Tutus, aKING, Taxi Violence, Saint Fearless, Ashtray Electric, Zebra and Giraffe, Holiday Murray, Good Luck, Southern Gypsey Queen, Tumi & The Volume, Crash Car Burn, Captain Stu, Shadowclub, Two Minute Puzzle, The Great Apes and various others. Various local electro acts like Bruce Willis, Jam Jarr, Riot Squad, Double Adapter, etc will also play sets at the festival.
The international main stage headliner for Synergy Live will be Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (or BRMC). The members of this band are Peter Hayes (on guitar and drums), Robert Levon Been (on bass, piano and vocals) and Leah Shapiro (on drums and percussion). BRMC has stood the test of time and came out a force to be reckoned with. Their latest album sounds vintage, grungy, and dirty – some of the many characteristics that make them one of the greatest rock and roll bands of this century. A Brazilian duo (made up of Marcus aka Jim and Eduardo aka Du), Dirtyloud will be the international electro headliner at Synergy Live this year. Dirtyloud are one of the hottest new electronic acts to emerge last year. For more information about Synergy Live 2011 visit http://synergylive.co.za/ or phone 021 4887017.
