2 Guns is an upcoming Action / Comedy / Crime / Drama film starring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg in the leading roles. The film tells the story of a DEA agent and an undercover Naval Intelligence officer who are tasked with investigating one another and find out that they were set up by the mob (the very organization they believe they have been stealing money from).
2 Guns is scheduled for release in August 2013 in the United States and is directed by Icelandic director Baltasar Kormákur (who also directed 2012’s The Deep and Contraband). The film will also feature appearances by Bill Paxton, James Marsden, veteran actor Edward James Olmos, Fred Ward, Alexandria Deberry and others. 2 Guns has an estimated budget of $90 million and is based on the Boom! Studios graphic novel of the same name. Filming for this upcoming film took place in New Orleans, Louisiana and various locations around New Mexico in the United States. No release date has been South African movie theatres yet, but keep your eye on the Nu Metro and Ster Kinekor websites for details.
2 Guns will be the 34th film that Mark Wahlberg appears in and the 52nd film that Denzel Washington appears in. I can’t recall a film where they both appeared in, so it will be interesting to see if the two characters portrayed by them in a film end up hurting each other really bad or killing each other in the end – I guess we’ll have to watch the film to find out. We might have another case of “Bad Boys” on our hands or the film could be disappointing. 2 Guns looks and sounds like it’s going to be a fun film to watch. Check out the trailer below and you’ll see what I mean.
